🚨Bryan Mbeumo on his conversation with Bruno Fernandes after the 1-1 draw against Leeds United: “After I converted that pass from Telemans into a goal, I looked at Bruno. He was happy for me, but at the same time, I could tell something was bothering him. He knows his role has changed. He used to be the one creating chances, but now he’s being pushed out wide and has to play as a winger. Things are different for him. After the final whistle, I walked straight up to him. I said, ‘Bruno, are you okay?’ He looked at me and smiled. ‘Bryan, you’re becoming our saviour now. Keep doing what you’re doing. Two goals in two games isn’t bad at all.’ I laughed and said, ‘Bruno, I haven’t received a single assist from you this season!’ He looked at me and replied: ‘As long as you’re scoring, I don’t care where the assists come from. The only thing I care about right now is getting this club back to the top.’ Then he said something that really touched me. ‘Bryan, I don’t care if I have to play outside my natural position. I can even play as a goalkeeper if that’s what it takes to help this team win. I’m the captain, and I carry the responsibility of this club on my shoulders.’ Honestly, that conversation meant a lot to me.
