My interpretation of this whole shot it that it's meant to highlight Ragatha as Jax's only moral anchor. Given that she's the only one who stands up to him, calls him out on his antics and scolds him, it becomes clear that she breaks the "Nothing matters" illusion. Without Ragatha, Jax would fully sink into his nihilistic worldview
