The amount of times I’ve heard, “it’s not what you said but how you said it”…leading me to try to soften my tone all the time. Or the time (after a couple days of arguing) that I said I’d be better off talking to a tree because I was feeling unheard…only to have to apologize for it later because it was hurtful. There was no change in trying to hear me though.
