@ameliasahm03: ok so i made this list because i genuinely wish someone had handed it to me before i came home from the hospital because i was SO prepared for the birth part and absolutely zero percent prepared for what came after 😭 like i had the crib set up and the cute outfits folded and i knew nothing. NOTHING. the first night home i was sitting in the dark at like 2am feeding her and i was starving and thirsty and the overhead light was blinding me and i had no snacks and no water and i was crying and thinking is this just my life now forever lol the white noise machine thing i can not stress enough. not for the baby. for YOU. because when someone else finally takes the baby and tells you to sleep your brain is still going insane and you need something to turn it off and the bedside lamp thing sounds so small but it genuinely changed my nights. there is something about bright overhead lights at 3am that makes everything feel so much more desperate and scary and a soft warm light just makes it feel more manageable somehow the beacon app one i added because it genuinely surprised me. i downloaded it during one of my first really hard nights because i felt so completely alone and everybody else was asleep and i didn't want to wake my husband again and i just needed to know someone else was awake going through this too and it showed me all these other moms online right now and i literally exhaled for the first time in days. sometimes you don't need advice you just need proof that other people are surviving this too the water bottle is NOT optional if you are breastfeeding. you will be so thirsty it's actually alarming and having it right there already cold is the difference between a bad night and a worse one save this for yourself or send it to a pregnant friend who thinks she has everything 🤍 she doesn't. none of us did #mom #MomsofTikTok #momlife #baby #newborn
