I don't like being that guy , but it's made of Sodium and Chlorine , the suffix " ide " means there are exactly 2 atoms making the molecule I.E Magnesium Sulfide, = magnesium and sulfur, sodium chloride = sodium and chlorine . sorry , couldn't help myself.

I had to read a book called “Salt” in 10th grade for AP world history. It was actually really really interesting to learn the history of how salt has developed and changed the entire world.

As someone learning to cook I think using salt maybe the most important thing to understand. Perfect example is cooking pasta. I could never bring myself to put that much salt in the water but when I did, you could really taste a big difference in a good way.
