Im not a doctor but I have definitely heard of people having vision issues when they have problems with their digestive tract because of inflammation

Im still just a med student so take this with a grain of salt, but it really sounds like stress induced inflammation. It can worsen underlying gastrointestinal conditions which may lead to blockages (like the bowel obstruction you experienced) and also very often contribute to optic migraines

I worked at an eye doctor and inflammation can affect your eyesight, including changes in blood, blood pressure or extremely high stress. For example, a patient with diabetes if their blood sugar is high, it can make their vision worse. So it may have been a combination of the health issues you were going through combine with the stress of your wedding and eye strain of sewing.

for the body to work optimally, everything needs to be in balance. it's possible that you had gut issues before that caused stress on your body. that stress can show itself in many different ways, including crappy eyesight.

Its stress, basically everything built up so intensely that you had different things happening, your bowel obstruction can cause poor eyesight combined with stress it can also create an eye migraine.

i had a medical history a few years ago. I kept going periodically blind and deaf and as you can imagine, it was horrifying. and then I went to the doctor and they informed me it was because I was allergic to pollen. as in the very common hayfever. I was deaf and blind because I had HAYFEVER. anyway so now I have an inhaler for hayfever.
