this song destroys me every time I hear it. Im the oldest of 4 kids, and having to be responsible for my siblings and my mom when she got sick and couldn't work really messed up my head as an adult. Now my son having to go thru something similar after my divorce from his mother back 10 years ago. Im gone and working so much and he needs me and I didnt know what to do a lot of the time. So this songs meaning comes back full circle cuz youre angry with your parents for how they raised you like you could do better, but now you're fumbling your own chance to be that better parent for your own kids and you really have to look at yourself and own that you did it and have to fix it.
