I do wish he seemed to care about your experience. You asked great questions, and he really was nonchalant with his answers. Maybe just an uninvested employee? Hopefully not an owner, cause even though the taste was good, they could have done better to improve your cultural experience.

If you’re ever in NYC you GOTTA go eat the Malaysian food at Laut. It’s my favorite restaurant in the world. I’ve been dozens of times.

oh I'm so glad you got the roti cannai and the beef rendang! Beef rendang is always my first recommendation for any Malaysian food - tender, flavourful beef in a rich, kind of nutty sauce.... I am so happy you enjoyed the food!

Yeayyyyyy im so proud of you, Ken! Finally you are trying Malaysian food. It’s pronounced Roti cha-nai and its a popular Malaysian Breakfast. And yes most Makaysian food are eaten with your fingers, very sensory and interactive eating experience. Good try 👍

IMO Beef Rendang is the best curry. If you go back though please try Malaysian satay chicken as an entree because it has all the flavours, its amazing.
