100%!! If you’re not in the top 3 in your age group at 14, you’re being used as a vehicle to provide those top 3 boys with game time and experience, as it will ultimately revolve around those that are the biggest asset to the club. Not always of course, there are some rare exceptions, but in general that’s the reality

lots of kids aren’t special on young age to be a prop and enjoy elite training can develop silent talents. Non of the elite U14 players in my sons academy played elite U7-U12. they played local competition (within the same club, they offer elite and community football) they stayed and worked, no stress only development. And yes they were used as props (u7-u12) so the elites could play games

The whole system in the UK is flawed. The FA are flawed, Cat 1-4 is flawed, Grassroots is flawed. Name the last UK manager to win the Prem. Name the last great UK ref nailed on to take a World Cup Final, Name the last UK National team Manager to win a trophy. I think everyone knows where I’m going with this.
