I had a biopsy last week and it was very similar to your experience. I was led to believe it was going to be “just a pinch” and I felt like they were stabbing me in the throat. Horrible.

I refused to do it without sedation. first time was painful and I felt it all and 2nd time they added iv benadryl to my sedation and I slept through it.

i had no anaesthetic at all, it was absolutely vile, it made my blood pressure tank and I nearly passed out. the stabby motion they used is just horrid.

OMG… yesterday I went to get a consult for hyperparathyroid surgery and during the ultrasound exam she found concerning things on my thyroid and wanted to biopsy . I WAS NOT PREPARED for what followed!! I’m glad I had no idea what was to come but now I’m definitely traumatized 😭. I got no numbing spray and no one told me to ice anything. NEVER AGAIN 😫😫

Oh wow the actual biopsy didn’t hurt me. I’ve had it done 2 different times. I had one yesterday and it’s much more sore this time than it was my last one which is a bit annoying lol

I’m so sorry. I had 8 of them. Fine needle ultrasound guided biopsies. They are digging into the harder tissues to make sure they get as much tissue as possible because if there is a problem it won’t show up unless they get the right cells to the lab. 🙏🏻🙏🏻. I had 8 of them and mine was exactly like this the first time. It’s really about the dr doing it. You’re going to do great. 🥰

Girl WTH?! Sounds like that tech needs some new training! I have Hashis & have to get a biopsy ev cpl of years to keep up w/ things & they should never hurt like that! I’m so sorrrryyy 😥 we’re all praying for you!!!
