got rejected from a role on sunday at 7.40pm, applied friday evening after normal working hours - they're not even reading applications anymore.

The application process for graduate jobs is outrageous!

The stages in applications are horrible. Over a period of months you are stringed along various stages and deemed unsuccessful after you gave it everything

I’ve been mentoring students for several years now, and I’ve never seen so many of them struggle despite sending out countless applications & with good solid CV’s. Putting myself in their shoes, it seems pretty bleak…

It’s ironic because they will use AI to filter applications but yet many will warn against using AI to apply 🤔

I have two sons both with good degrees, hard working. Both have applied for hundreds of jobs and got none. Months doing tests and interviews. I worry for them

It's not just graduates either. Seasoned professionals can't get jobs either. I've never known it to be this bad. Thankfully I have a job.

I was made redundant last year for the first time ever and I’ve been applying for hundreds, if not thousands, of jobs and I’m excited to get an auto generated rejection email now rather than just being ghosted… even getting rejection emails at 2 am now. So my degree, my masters and over a decade of experience now mean nothing apparently

I graduated in 2017, so well before the hell of AI CV screening. I had a 2:1 from a red brick and plenty of experience - internships and placements plus a part time job since I was 16. It took me 250 applications to find a full time job remotely in a field I wanted to work in. Breaks my heart to think about graduates entering the workforce these days.

18 months of looking for a new job with an undergrad degree, two Masters degrees, and 15 years of experience including 6 years at senior management level - it’s absolutely hopeless. Never felt so worthless and despondent in my life. I’ve never seen a job market like this.

I left school with no qualifications, created a cv with no true information and landed a customer service job where no one checked my background or references. I now earn £36,000 a year and been in the role 5 years. Lie, it’s sink or swim….

Job market is broken. We lost something when everything went online. That taking your cv into an employer and speaking to a person has been lost

It’s not just graduates it’s people with years and years of experience too. You spend ages completing job apps, if you’re lucky you get interviews, then rejection with no reason why,, it’s so demoralising.

I’ve been unemployed for a year. Within that year I’ve had discrimination, a job let me go after 3 shifts because I wasn’t fast enough even tho I have ADHD. I’ve done over 400- 500 job applications within the year. Probs more. I’ve had over 10 interviews since January. And only have until September to find something otherwise council tax will be onto me even tho I can’t afford to pay my own bills even being a student exempt from Council tax

Law has always been a highly competitive field where it’s often about who you know and not necessarily what you know.. Every senior legal professional I’ve spoken to has told me that their own experience in getting into law was also one that left them feeling deeply uninspired in the beginning. There’s a reason why the average age to qualify is 31

Im in my 50s and took me 10 months to find a job in my field with lots of experience. Applied for loads, some I was told had 100s of applicants. Even just getting an interview is a miracle these days

A friend of mine was made redundant in Feb this year and he’s applied for 200 jobs and had 1 teams interview. Even basic admin jobs are wanting three stage interviews.
