I really love how both ddlc and obsession, if you think about it, shows loss of agency by the supposedly more “evil” girls or antagonists. Monika doesnt really truly love the MC, it was put in her programming and when she realizes that she can control everything except changing that part of her programming and that the one whose truly in control is the MC. Really parallels with obsession in that way. At least thats how I saw it in ddlc that Monika never truly wanted to be loved by MC but was out of control and only ever wanted the humanity, maybe rouge programming?? Thatd be so cool
