i was a former ari fan, and just got back into her. i refused to believe that she was going down this road. i am on the journey of dealing with an ED called ARFIDS. i lost a lot of weight, not anything like anerexia, but i do believe that she’s on the same level of pain as Karen Carpenter. i saw clips of opening night of this tour and she sounds out of breath and i really think this could be the end of her career and even her life. we need to raise more awareness and push for change.

I’m just going to say when I was in my ED I didn’t want to look “healthy” I wanted to look as thin as possible. A lot of times when someone is battling ED being told you don’t look healthy is taken as a compliment and encouragement to keep going down that path. I’m not saying it’s okay, but I am saying we need to be very careful on how we approach our commentary on this matter if we actually want to help.

Imagine calling someone “awful looking” just because their bones are visible. Do you really think that’s any better? What about her feelings? i don’t agree w the idea of losing alot of weight for a beauty standards or wtv the reason BUT You and others don’t get to comment on someone’s body, especially when she’s repeatedly asked people to stop discussing it. Even if you’re concerned about her health, it’s not your place to make judgments or anything.She has family, friends, and medical professionals who can support her if needed. At the end of the day, constantly analysing or criticising someone’s appearance helps no one. Respect her boundaries and let the subject rest.

I feel like there’s a huge difference between concern and actively bothering though. Saying something like “I hope she’s doing okay” is VERY different than “she looks like a skeleton” and that’s a line that people need to learn and to not say those body shaming words disguised as concern.
