I just had this with my partner. He accused me of being pushy when he told me his reasons for not doing something. I finally realized that I see reasons as challenges to overcome where he’s trying to set a boundary with them and it’s unclear to me. I told him to tell me upfront “I’m setting a boundary. I don’t wanna do this.” And that if I said anything further after that, it was fair to call me an a-hole. Like I didn’t understand

THIS I have had so many friendships and with the other person telling me something along the lines of "you know what you did", and in all of these situations I had no idea that we had any issues, because they had not told me we had any issues

Something I want to get better at is if i can kinda catch on that someone has an issue with me, I’d ask “do you have anything you want to talk to me about?” And that would be the ONE and ONLY time I’ll ask. After that, I won’t ask about it again, it’s their job to talk to me about it.

O told my ex this and everything I did wrong was brought up when I expressed something and the conversation turned into what I did wrong. I hated it. I always said to please bring it up in the moment and I will apologise and work on it. but it was always used to redirect the conversation and I was left alologisising and my problem never got resolved
