i wrote a 85 + page novel scrapbook through the years. Mixed with all the memories of him, 27 + letters and even songs and things that reminded me of him, and especially the moment i realized i loved him, We were best friends before at 17 - we grew up went separate life’s and stoped talking for 2 years. We came back but wrong timing. Took time again it’s been about 4 years i broke the silence and told him for the first time. I wrote my husband a book of love poems. About 60 pages. I got it printed. Had pictures of him in the moments I would describe in the poems. Pictures he probably hadn’t even knew I’d taken. I didn’t focus on big moments, like the day we got married. I focused on tiny things. Like what I feel when I hear him come back through the door at the end of the day. I didn’t think they were that good. My mind is always faster than my hands. But I made a point of making sure they were all specifically about him. Not about love in general, not using generic phrasing. Not saying cliches. I surprised him on a random day, leaving it unwrapped on the bed for him to find. Not for a special occasion. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for anyone. It made him feel seen, loved and says it’s the best gift he’s ever gotten and I’ll never be able to top it. Which is great and terrifying because we’ve only been married four years 😂
