Honestly as a day one Gears fan… good. I love wall bouncing but the series needs to build a stronger community and most people won’t get into Gears due to the movement tech.

this bs movement tech is the sole reason I never got into any of the installment's multiplayer pvp modes. thank God, the game can actually be fun now for everyone.

People are complaining about it being gone but I’ve played this game for almost 20 years (26y) and the gameplay has not changed once other than small additions but roll run and cover has been there. It’s kept away newcomers because the skill gap was 20 years in the making. People who know wall bounce tech and those who don’t even know how to active reload yet. It’s why I’ve seen the same 20 people on gears reloaded for the ps5. Nobody plays it that’s new. This new formula shakes up almost 20 years of the same gameplay for everyone. New and old. That’s how you restart a community and welcome in new players who are now as new as the old players. This will revive gears for the next gears 6 title after eday is released

I get why wall bouncing was the go to but I couldn’t stand it. Just completely ruins the MP experience of playing the game normally. Definitely was fun at first once you figured it out.

Hot take and this is from a 18 year veteran, Gears 5 movement is dogshit. It was fine in 3, 4 was a step up and 5 took it overboard and it wasn’t enjoyable for any new player to get into. E-Day genuinely looks refreshing and I really don’t mind if it’s slower.

I agree with the change. I've been playing since gears 1 but wall-bouncing adds a huge skill ceiling that takes a ton of the fun away from average players. Plus, it's a cover based shooter, it'd be nice to play it like one.
