Julius Caesar didn't change the calendar. That was done by his nephew, Octavius Caesar, after changing his name Octavius to Augustus. The main reason for changing the calendar was to erase the holiday called the Ides of March, so that no one celebrate the day his uncle, Julius, was slain.
