Eloise is 10 months old and has Down Syndrome. I am always being asked for advice when it comes to development and what’s helped her. Here it is… While I was pregnant, I had so much fear because I was constantly reminded of what Eloise “wouldn’t be able to do”. I wish I would have seen this video then.. so I am posting it for all the new moms and dads who may be trying to overcome a diagnosis that is naturally feared… or for the parents who are in the trenches, feeling hopeless in their journey and are in need of some encouragement. Our babies are capable. Every child with or without Down Syndrome achieve things / milestones when THEY are ready. BUT, that doesn’t mean you should wait around and take the back seat. Push them. Encourage them. Be patient with them. Praise them. WORK WITH THEM. Every. Single. Day. This is so so important. The sooner you start, the better. Educate yourself so that you can teach them. They need this from you. Every child is different, there are no rights and wrongs when it comes to the timing of our babies achievements. Celebrate them all. The big ones, the small ones, the easy ones, the hard ones and even the almost ones. They will believe in themselves by learning how you believe in them. Show it, teach them. I am so proud of my little Eloise Lucille. She is determined. She is strong. She believes in herself and puts in the work. She keeps going..even when things feel hard…and she is on a freaking roll. We’re in this together and we’re not slowing down! To infinity and beyond, my little love! ❤️ #the#theluckyfewc#luckym#momH#SAHMy#dayinthelifew#downsyndromew#downsyndromeawarenessi#trisomy21i#trisomy21e#specialneedsf#lifewitheloisep#happygirli#smileygirlT#OOTDW#GRWMungmom #milestones #t21
