It’s such a blessing but it is so repetitive, lonely and the lack of adult interaction is hard. I wouldn’t trade it for the world but shit, the burnout is also real.

I think being a SAHM is hard because there is never time off. It’s constant and so demanding. It never ends. Even when my kids are asleep, I’m still on call. And it’s mentally tiring for me

I literally was trying to explain this to my hubby today!! I loved my job and I was good at it and I miss stopping by to grab coffee or buy something I don’t need with my extra money just because. Now I try to stay in the house as much as I can because everything costs so much. I am so lucky and blessed and wouldn’t trade it for the world but it’s hard mentally

It’s hard because ur on the clock 24/7! It won’t be for ever. Right. Eventually everyone will sleep all night. & no one will NEED u to survive. I put my kids in Mother’s Day out 2x a week for 5hrs. So I could just be ALONE. To breathe. To catch up on sleep. Or on food. To me my own self for a bit.

trying to force myself to be disciplined and have a routine when it’s just me and baby all day and we can do whatever we want? SO hard. I want to do those things, but physically doing them is exhausting :(

Like I am in my pajamas all day and yes that sounds amazing and some days it is but starting to lose myself because if Im not leaving the house I have zero reason to do my hair and makeup or get dressed. Now I get such anxiety and have to mentally prepare to just go to the grocery store. I feel so fake getting dressed up like im just putting on a show for everyone else. Being a mom and in general a woman is exhausting sometimes. I try stop myself and look at the fact that my husband is the one missing out on so many moments because he is the reason we get to stay at home and be safe and secure and happy. But boy if I knew how to do his job I would definitely trade a few days here and there! 😆

1000% agree, I think being a stay at home Mom is mentally and emotionally difficult, but I think it’s even more difficult for those with blue-collar workers where we go literally days without seeing our partner or getting a break.

I work as a server/bartender on my husband's days off & it's literally perfect. I go to work for a few hours & get a break, have my own money, friends at work. we don't have to pay for day care & it's super flexible. if I decide I want a day off I can give the shift away. if I need extra money I can pick up extra shifts. I'd definitely recommend to anyone in this situation.

Being a mother in general is HARD and energy sucking. I cannot imagine staying home with my children OR working and then having to come home and mother. There’s no comparison and I hate that narrative!!! Being a mother is hard, PERIOD!!!! I’m in so much awe by every mother, it’s the hardest and most rewarding job there is. You are doing AMAZING!!! This is so real and valid.

It’s so much harder than working out of the house 40 hours a week. I used to tell my husband you don’t know how lucky you are to have coffee with your friends every day or going to the bathroom alone or having real conversations but you are correct I also wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

You shouldn’t be ashamed. This is such a valid take. When I was a SAHM I yearned for adult interaction and a sense of normality. As a now working mom I WISH I had more time with my kid.
