Using this method, it would mean the most weight ever lifted by a human being, Hafthor Bjornson lifting 505kg, would only be a STR 16.

Alex Pla195 :
the world's strongest person who has the highest deadlift weight recorded is Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, he lifted 1124lbs as his record and he weighs 450lbs. his ratio would be 2.5. meaning his str score would only be a 16

My score is 18. 120 lbs with a max PR of 365. Could you do DEX next? Go in order of the stats on the sheet?

Heavier characters do have higher strength, though, orcs and goliaths, etc.
The world record deadlift has a worse ratio per bodyweight than I do.
I think absolute weight is fine BUT the numbers are off.and too linear,
I'd put 10 at 200lbs but then 20 is 1000. The handful of guys who've broken 1000lbs are the level 20 barbarians with >20 strength of real life.

thecourtadpole :
The main issue is that strength is not relative to weight in DnD, smaller creatures have weaker strength. An ant doesn’t have 20 strength because it can lift 100x its body mass. We can change the benchmarks for strength to more reasonable number, but you shouldn’t make them based off the character’s weight.

the only problem i see with this is that it deosnt matter how much fat or muscle you have. f.e. if you are very far but can still lift a bit mire than your bodyweight its an averige score instead of you having the strenght of about 14 to 16

I mean if you think about it most commoners are probably farmers blacksmiths carpenters and other physical labor jobs which would mean they should be stronger then the average person of today's standards. Now the 300 pound deadlift is a lot but I'd say lifting above your body wait as a commoner would most likely be something a typical commoner should be able to do in a medieval setting where most people are laborers. You really can't compare d&d to modern standards as the closest thing to modern average peoples strength would be wizards sorcerers and other spell casters who use strength as a dump Stat.

Would accuracy with ranged weapons fall under agility? Because while I am the opposite of graceful and flexible, I am very accurate with various ranged weapons.

The only problem with that, is that strength becomes linear with bodyweight. Are you saying the dude who's 130lb and Deadlifts 365 is "stronger" than Thor who is 430lb and deadlifts 1105lb?

I feel like STR, DEX, and CON would be the easier ones to calc (in that order), and like CHA, INT, and WIS would be the hardest (in the order)

A 110llb guy that can deadlift 170lbs isn't doing more bonus melee danage than a 320lbs guy that can deadlift his body weight.
