I'm so sorry, I know she's a kid, but she's definitely old enough to hear the words "that's not kind to say about a gift someone just gave you, in front of them". my mom would have had me give it back. it's ok not to like something, but it's also just manners and being polite. say "thank you so much!" and go and trade it lol. or leave it and go to another booth. I was 9 when Pokémon came to the u.s. I've always been a die hard fan, so I understand wanting certain cards or whatever, but I am SICK of people caring about how "much" a card is worth, instead of how they like it or its rarity, and it's trickled down to kids. like when pokemon card collecting started up, we all wanted the holo Charizard not bc we thought about how much it was at the moment, but how rare it was. I guess you could argue sort of that they could mean the same or similar thing in a way? but not really, I dunno. i know times change and whatever, it just sucks to hear kids opening packs and going "omg I got this card and it's this much money" instead of being excited for the card. if that card was the exact same card but worth more money, she'd have been ECSTATIC. I mean idk, everyone would be to get a valuable card if they wanted to sell it, but my point is is that she would have loved that card if it was worth money, but bc it was "only" 15 or 20 bucks, on top of it maybe not being a Pokémon or art style she liked, she just hated it fully.
