I def don’t dread summer but gosh I dread the first 2 weeks where my kid is hella thrown off by routine change and wants to spend 8 million dollars 🤣 after that we get in a good routine but oof I’m not ready haha (fully love teachers and don’t blame them for anything 💕😊)

I love summer. Give me my kids all day. This is my last summer with a kid though. :( He’s 17 and going to be a senior.

I don’t dread summer break but it’s definitely a lot for me and makes things a bit more tiring or stressful at times. And no my kids don’t get in trouble at school and when they have they were held accountable for their own actions and I’m the parent who attends all conferences and school events.

No, I don’t think there’s a correlation. A lot of us dreads somewhere because of the loss of routine and the fact that we still have to work while scrambling to keep our kids busy instead of being fun summer ends up being just one long logistical puzzle.

There may be overlap but not completely. What I learned while teaching remotely through Covid was that I never doubt that parents love their children but some of them definitely do not like their children.

I don’t at all blame the teachers. We are foster parents and have 5 kids. One has some trauma and it’s hard to deal with the swings in his emotions 24/7. I also have a child with Down syndrome and diabetes. It’s just nice to get a break from being a guard all day everyday when they are in school.
