![‘Classroom Portraits’ [2004 to 2012] by Julian Germain Across nearly a decade, Julian Germain travelled to nineteen countries photographing classrooms around the world. From the United Kingdom, Germany and Switzerland to Bangladesh, Russia and Yemen, the series documents the shared global experience of education through the spaces where learning takes place. Reflecting on the project, Germain has described the work as a call for adults to consider their responsibility toward all young people, noting that while adults are absent from the images, they shape every classroom depicted.
