Yeah its probably gonna take a few consistently good movies before the DCU starts gaining impressive numbers. In mcu phase 1, the iron man movies and Avengers had impressive numbers and only when they reached phase 2 was when every other movie was making more.

The issue for dc they need to be consistent. tell good stories put out solid movies and don't panic when every single thing isn't a billion dollar movie. that's just not the world we live in any more box office wise. It happens but not nearly as often. keep building out the world and people will slowly become invested. dont keep scrapping everything like they used to if it didn't quite perform as well as they wanted.

I watched Superman about 8 or 9 times (tickets are $5 here), so about once a week for as long as I could. It was my feel good movie that summer. I 100% believe I will do the same for Supergirl. I adore the comic it's drawing inspiration from, and I cannot wait to see what their spin on that aspect of the Supergirl mythos will be. I will be grinning ear to ear, and I will hopefully tear up happy tears too ❤️💙💛

500 million? Superman only did like 615, so I don’t know you think a movie with a much less popular character that has to compete with Toy Story 5 is doing that.

I hope word of mouth gets it far! We saw that with obsession this year, I’d love to see more talk about supergirl. I think the marketing kind of did it dirty, not a fan of the initial teasers.

Honestly, box office earnings don’t mean much nowadays, plenty of people don’t want to go to the theatre to watch movies, they’d rather just stream it, a large popcorn isn’t $25 when I make it at home

I never expected it to do Superman numbers but around $500m or like you said around $300 m isn’t bad I don’t get why some people are like “oh if a movie doesn’t make $700m it’s a flop or a billion it’s a flop” what was the last dc movie to make billion? Aquaman so given their logic the dceu only had 1 successful movie. The problem is people wanna call Superman a flop cuz it didn’t make more than MoS but critically it beat Man of steel People seriously forget how divisive MoS was

I think WB knows that they aren’t gonna get crazy profit until they have a good stretch of movies and when they announce Batman. If the movies are 7/10 at minimum they are rolling
