Because some of y'all apparently can't scroll... We were moving to a different state anyway, and since UPS doesn't offer transfers (you have to start over at starting pay), it made sense to take the buyout. Since he already had driving experience, it made sense for him to go directly to FedEx so he'd have a secure job right away. (Sure he could've gone else where but it was convenient) It's temporary y'all! Also it's our lives and decision, not yours. Hope that helps! 😊

Just left FedEx Ground a few months ago for Costco. Took a pay decrease but the benefits are so much better.

You guys did what you thought was best. Obviously there’s a need to explain to the masses about YOUR decision, but don’t feed into the negativity. Were/are there pros and cons? I bet, and I also bet that you guys weighed those prior to doing what you did.

It’s smart to do this! I applied for the buyout but unfortunately didn’t get it. But getting a little over 100k in your bank AND still working made you years closer to retiring 🙌🏽 congrats

6-year driver here, don’t listen to the negativities. All these drivers here know damn well you can’t transfer out of state. At the end of the day it’s not about the money life can change in an instant. He took the best decision he was given, goodluck to you both and at least he doesn’t get to be out late
