the truth is, exercise is not THE ANSWER. its all about the food. that's the truth. you need to eat less, you need to eat healthier, lower calorie foods most of the time and you need to track it (for a while to understand). it sucks but its the truth. losing or gaining weight happens 100% through food. things I recommend: track calories at the beginning, cook 90% of your meals at home, create meals from mostly 1 ingredient foods (example, chicken, carrot, potato, rice, apple etc). stop eating/drinking processed foods + alcohol as much as possible and save those foods/drinks for a TREAT. treats happen occasionally, not on a daily or weekly basis. do this consistently and you will see a difference. the key is to not make it something you hate doing. learn to love it. for exercise just start walking and moving more. that's it. good luck.

So sad to see all the calorie counting comments lol. I’m sure it works but it just sucks. Especially because it’s actually so hard to know how many calories are in your cooking when you’re making homemade meals from scratch - if I make a chili and eat a bowl of it, how tf do I count the calories in that? The mental gymnastics of it is so exhausting to me

I lost 35 pounds but it took over a year. Walk more and eat less. Track your steps and calories. Use a TDEE calculator and eat in a 300-500 calorie deficit. High volume foods are super helpful. Don’t do something you can’t sustain bc you’ll need to keep doing it to keep it off

Weight lifting, a small calorie deficit, and walking. I’m talking a 200-300 calorie deficit at most! It will take time (6-9m months) but then it will be sustainable and will actually stick. I only lift weights 3-4times a week for about 30-45 minutes and make sure to get 8-10k steps a day. The main thing is the food and sticking to that small deficit. You got this!

You will never outwork a bad diet. Nutrition is KEY. Walking is SO underrated. Serious if you walk 8-10k steps daily and eat mainly Whole Foods you are golden

It’s not just exercise, it’s mostly diet. Eat high protein & high carb. Walk daily, increase your metabolism. It’s simple.

I recently lost 25 lbs. Not sure if this is good advice but you just have to get comfortable with the idea of being uncomfortable for a while. Being in a calorie deficit means feeling a little hungry sometimes and sitting with that feeling. Eating healthy sometimes sucks. I’d rather eat a burger than a chicken breast at the end of a long day. It’s going to be 2-3 months of sucky non gratifying and boring days. With that said it gets easier after the first month and you get into a routine

I don’t know, part of me feels like if this is where you sit comfortably then this is the ideal weight for you, and you do look amazing! If you’re eating balanced and have a movement routine that you’re consistent with, even a small cut may not be long term sustainable. Part of living a healthy life is enjoying all the moments,

Truly truly once I realized that a calorie deficit needed to be more extreme than I thought, and I needed far less food than I thought

The thinnest I’ve ever been is when I was incredibly strict with my diet. Exercise didn’t do much.

Don’t eat after 6pm. Start your day with the highest calories. Drink water, only. Move, a lot more, and I don’t mean, just, the gym. Walk, a lot. Take your time, and enjoy the process; don’t go into it with stress

It’s 90% diet, calories in and calories out. Have your doctor calculate your maintenance calories and go into a sustainable deficit. Fat loss is calories. Being toned comes down to muscle! While in a calorie deficit, strength train (lifting weights, etc). You already look amazing, so what you’re looking for is “body decomposition.”

I feel like any advice you’d get on here wouldn’t be very helpful as everyone is different. Maybe try going to a specialist (dietician, trainer, nutritionist), if that’s accessible for you. They could give recommendations specific to your body and you can definitely put your foot down about ozempic.

High fiber, high protein, strength training (like heavy weight). the more muscle you have the more calories you need to maintain so it's easier to stay leaner

I lost 35 lbs in a calorie deficit. Use the TDEE calculator to determine what your daily calorie goal should be and then trace every single thing you eat. I promise it works!

I’m 32 and recently lost 23 pounds of fat and gained 4 lbs muscle in the last 15 months and honestly it was eating less, eating more Whole Foods, and a ton of protein. I also followed a 30 min/3-4x a week strength training program and walked a lot each day. But I think what changed the most for me was the food choices I made and quantity

i resonate with this so much! i am almost 1 year pp and joined a program where i have a coach (virtual) and assistance with nutrition. i am 17 pounds down in 17 weeks with a HUGE emphasis on protein (110g - 130g per day) and another huge take away is steps (8k - 10k per day) and i lift 4 days per week rn

Consistency is key. I wake up early and workout - it’s the first thing I do. Start small. Get 2 five pound dumbbells and start there. I follow fitness trainers on YouTube and do all of my exercises for free. I follow : Olivia Lawson, growingannanas and Fit by Mik. They’re female trainers and they’re great. Try to start 4 days a week, 20 minutes a day. Then, when it feels too easy, make it harder. Either by adding another day of working out, or making your workout longer by 5 minutes or increasing the weights. And food consistency is key. For me, I don’t eat anything until 1pm and I’m in bed by 9pm so I have an 8 hour window for eating. I also have a 4 year old and a 6 month old so it really is doing the best you can and starting! You got this ✨✨✨✨

As also a 33 year old, I lost 50lbs cutting gluten, dairy, alcohol, caffeine and sugar. Whole foods, walking 10k steps 5x a week, strength training 5x a week. It took a lot of trial and error, ngl — found a mix that worked for me and my body. You can do it ❤️
