vtec solenoid gasket has been the issue probably caused that. mine definitely did and dripped oil everywhere. $25 part, 30 minute replacement

I’m willing to bet the front spool valve on that Honda J series V6 was leaking oil right on top of the alternator 👀 the guy you helped needs to get that fixed asap or he’ll keep blowing through alternators. Very nice of you to help him 💯
