I feel like PPD isnt talked about enough. with my 1st 3 kids i got post partum anger, this time i got depression. It hit me like a ton of bricks the last couple of weeks and its hard to look at my past picture of myself and not understand how i was so happy then but so sad now. Everyone gets handed a medication to bandaid the situation when they really need help processing their emotions. Yes medications are great but we need to work at the root cause too. It can show up suddenly, without warning, appear months after birth, last for years, and make everyday feel unbearable. Make yourself a priority, get the help you need, ask for support, youre not alone even when it feels like it. Motherhood is hard, and very misunderstood. Never compare your journey to others because social media isnt real, and just because someone else seems to be doing amazing doesnt mean they are.
