👍I recently discovered a method to add a bit of texture, or some dust and scratches to a design in Adobe Illustrator IN A NON-DESTRUCTIVE WAY. Simply open up the transparency panel (window - transparency), select your artwork and press ‘make mask’. Making sure the opacity mask box is selected, just paste in a black and white jpg with some texture to it. Then you can move it around and position the texture to your liking! It works best with a high res, high contrast, black and white image, but you can play around with all sorts of different images for some unique results. And if you want to move it later, just make sure that the opacity mask box is selected. If you need that effect vectorised, you can just rasterise and then image trace your design, using these steps… 
Effect → Rasterise Object → Image Trace → Make
