@nzherald: Footage has emerged showing the moment a Northland horse was rescued from a deep drain. Several people worked into the night, using a 14-tonne digger to excavate a path to save Chance. Simone Frewin was stunned when she found the 23-year-old steed “well wedged” in the drain on her Paparoa property. Footage of the rescue, shared yesterday, has since captivated audiences on social media, with the most popular video of the ordeal accruing over 3 million views in less than 24 hours. Chance, a 16hh high stationbred, has been with the family since he was a weanling, Frewin said. “He’s pretty extra.
