Paris of Asia in the sense that Manila architecturally resembled a european city with its neoclassical, art nouveaux and hispano-filipino architecture (bahay na bato) because of 333 years of spanish colonization, all of it to be erased in ww2, so right after the war it was no more the "Paris of Asia"
