Yes, it would be an amazing experience to have autistic, similiar friends in real life—to understand and support one another in a way that doesn't drain our energy. I've often thought about that myself. It's a shame that we're all so scattered around. Maybe one day circumstance will allow us to come together in person as well, at least some of us..(just a wishful thinking, its even not so impossible)...

I’m on the spectrum, likely AuDHD. My ADHD tests studies often return with mixed results because they miss the autism element, meaning the dots don't fully connect, whereas my Autism test scores are consistently high. Regarding the difficulty of meeting other autistic individuals, many are heavily masked in real life compared to online. People are often in survival mode, masking just to get by in our highly judgmental, ostracizing society. Offline, I almost never discuss my disabilities because people don't know how to perceive me. They either become overly curious and go into 'Velcro mode,' or they are completely off-put. Because of this, I keep it to myself offline. Most people assume I was in a car accident; they rarely realize I have cerebral palsy, let alone that I'm also on the spectrum. I’m not ashamed—I simply don’t volunteer the information.
