@jackeatseverything: Staying in an Army tent and our first ever South African Braai! 😍🏕️ On the weekend myself and Jas went to Hay on Wye! We stayed in an Army tent for the first time ever and I gotta say it was class. It had a double bed, two singles, electric, a light and you could actually stand up which is great for the back! There were 4 toilets, 4 showers and a communal cooking area with air fryer, oven, fridges, tables, chairs and washing up facilities 💪 The place we stayed at was called Drovers Rest and it was stunning. You felt like you were in the middle of the countryside because to be fair you were! Saying that just three miles away was the centre of Hay On Wye. In the day we would either chill by the Tent or pop into the centre for some food and drinks! One day we got a picnic and visited the Warren which was absolutely beautiful. Drovers Rest is a working farm and in the mornings you can go on a farm tour where you get to meet all the animals and even feed them. Jas also got to hold a little lamb so she was so happy. We also booked into one of their South African Braai nights. Highly recommend doing this as it was so good. They cook everything over fire and staff are all super friendly and talk you through what they’re cooking and it all tasted so good. In the morning we even had breakfast where they once again cooked everything outside! 😍 There’s other places you can stay on the farm like safari tents and cottages but we stayed in the Army Tents and while we were there it was £250 for 2 nights. There was only 2 of us but it does sleep 4. (South African Braai & Breakfast you book seperate) Highly recommend this place we had a great time! ❤️
