im a newgen and sometimes i forget how old these bands are, and i only now realize that some members of my favorite bands died decades ago. i didnt even know abt any of the lore i just listen to the music, but some of the old rock bands have had so many tragedies happen

I went to their Charlotte concert last May. They had just played a song dedicated to Cliff, then started Nothing Else Matters. It started raining right at the beginning of the song, and the rain stopped immediately after. Not a single drop of rain the whole rest of the concert. There are videos of it. It was really surreal and special. I don’t believe it was a coincidence.

its crazy to me that it really all ended up with “how the cards were dealt” playing out. it wasnt just a metaphor because it could have been kirk instead of cliff, but they picked cards on who got the top bunk.

I’m not being cutesy or funny at all but it’s stuff like this that makes me miss the original MTV, VH1, CMT, BET, etc. because behind the music, pop up video and all the first shows really taught us about music and the bands. I know we have the internet but not everyone grew up with Metallica fans so they don’t know to search this stuff. Behind the music taught me a ton of lore to music and musicians I didn’t listen to, but still could respect.
