Be careful not to make yourself an enemy of what Heaven approves. It is possible to criticize a person when, in reality, your disagreement is not with them but with the God they are serving. Before you speak against someone’s devotion, ask yourself whether you truly understand their assignment, their sacrifice, or the relationship they have built with God. Sometimes, the very thing that makes God smile at someone is the same thing that attracts criticism, mockery, and opposition from others. While some people are sacrificing their comfort, resources, time, and strength to honor God, others stand at a distance and question, attack, or condemn them without understanding the depth of their devotion. Not every act of faith will make sense to everyone. Not every sacrifice will be understood by the crowd. Throughout history, people who pleased God were often misunderstood by those around them. Their dedication looked excessive, their commitment seemed unreasonable, and their obedience appeared foolish to those who could not see what God saw. Some people are pleasing God with their substance. They give when others hold back. They serve when others complain. They remain faithful when others walk away. They choose obedience even when it costs them something valuable. Their actions may not always make sense to everyone, but God sees the heart behind every sacrifice. May we never become opponents of those whom God has approved. May we have the wisdom to discern the difference between human display and genuine devotion. And may our hearts remain humble enough to celebrate what God is doing in the lives of others, even when we do not fully understand it.
