Guys, one of the best times to go is in October (speaking from experience). It’s so pretty and walkable weather. The metro system is easy to figure out (I did in a day from someone who has never used public transportation ever). If you also want to make the trip, you can buy a Charlie ticket at the metro station which is around $12-$16 and you can ride the train to Salem for Halloween. To get around on the subways, you need to buy a Charlie card (you can purchase them at the subway stations). I purchased a week long one and it was like $5.
