As a manager, I put some blame on the manager. It was either a bad promotion or lack of training and setting expectations. Also, if the manager gets notice way in advance why doesn't she pass that on to supervisors?

If manager knows well in advance, the schedule should be adjusted accordingly; if it’s spontaneous, the manager should pass on the information that someone will be late asap so co-workers know

The only spot I agree with the Lead Server on is that it sounded like Chris wasn't communicating the lateness to the rest of the team. So I understand frustration if someone is walking in late and you haven't known they were going to be late, so you don't know if they'll be late or aren't coming in at all, or what. How she's handling it though is absolutely out of line.

maybe I'm alone in thinking this but if she had an appointment she would've known when the schedule came out and could've informed them she would be late then? An appointment is scheduled with time to spare so I'm not understanding why the server couldn't inform her coworkers and manager when she knew she would be late. wayyyyy before the shift
