@euronews.tv: The EU rejects Apple’s blame for the delayed rollout of its AI-enhanced voice assistant, saying it was up to the US tech giant to make products that follow the rules. “The decision not to roll out Siri AI in the EU is Apple’s and Apple’s only,” says spokesperson Thomas Regnier.
people complaining about this don't understand that if it wasn't for the EU they would only be able to have Safari on their Mac

Look, I get the idea here but the EU keeps overstepping. These politicians are not engineers yet they enforce expensive and complex solutions with these endless technical regulations. Trust that people will vote with their wallets more.

Just so we are all on the same page. Imagine you spend millions of dollars building a new feature for your product. On day one before you even launch it, before you get feedback from users, before you know how users will use it, before you find all the bugs you are forced to spend all the time and money to open in up to all your competitors so they can build upon your version 1. That is what this is about. It would be like moving into a new house and even before you unpack a single box you have to throw a party for 300 people who are going to stay there permanently.

Just make it mandatory to publish all remote API definitions for every app. This way anyone can build an alternative solution and the providers are forced to secure their APIs instead of relying on security through obscurity.

So they disabled for EU users. Now we don’t have an Ai enabled Siri.

I prefer the privacy instead of letting any other AI have full access to my iPhone. It’s a matter of security, not free market. If anyone want an open source phone, they can buy an android. If the costumer want security and privacy and what apple offers they buy an iPhone. That’s it! Europe created the GDPR specifically to protect rights and privacy, and now it’s going against that?! That’s absurd.
