Interesting. I always thought the 2 witnesses would be Elijah and Enoch. Listening to this John could definitely be one of the witnesses.

Just to share my viewpoint, I don’t believe that John is still alive. But what’s interesting is that John actually did live to see Jesus return and to see the kingdom of God, please let me explain. Straight to the point ,the book of Revelation was written by John, and he describes end time prophecies ( visions ),which included Jesus return, and the kingdom of God that John personally experience;seeing hearing and feeling it all ,hence him writing down the book of revelations . So again, yes John did see Crist return and the kingdom of God.

Elijah and Enoch were the 2 that never died but rather taken up to heaven. They will be the 2 witnesses in Revelation.

I always thought the 2 witnesses were Moses representing the Law and Elijah representing the prophets. Because both of them were at the Mt of transfiguration

I agree that it’s possible that John is still alive. However, the great and dreadful day of the Lord was the day that Jesus rose from the dead. And, John the Baptist WAS Elijah. Jesus makes that clear in Matthew 11:14 & Matthew 17:9-13.
