My two smaller end toes on each foot were like this. I had surgery. The hammer toes and pain returned. Years later another foot surgeon corrected the toes. They have remained in place to this day. it had been about 20 years. Awesome foot specialist.

I have bunions and a toe like that. Not doing surgery. Just had 2 knee replacements. I’ve had enough pain for a while.

Don’t forget it! I did and it ruined my foot and your toe becomes the weight bearing toe for the whole foot. It will never bend and you actually trip over your own toe!!!!

I had hammer toe surgery in Aug 2022, 2nd toe. It no longer hurts in shoes but is still a bit swollen and hanging a bit over the 3rd toe. I broke that toe in July 2025 but it healed quickly.
