Rest (temporary immobilization if needed), training and surgery. For every treatment in between there's a very small chance that is going to help you. If your injury is minor enough your body will fix it with rest, nutrition and training. If your injury is severe same process but surgery first. Other therapies can only lower the time of an injury that has the potential to heal on its own. If you are dealing with a ligament problem here's a quick guide:
Happy case: Ankle and shoulder injuries. No matter how bad the initial injury feels these areas are highly vascularized and heal unbelievably fast. Those areas heal before you start worrying too much about them.
The there are worse things than that case: Knees and elbows. May take several weeks until progress is seen but happily stability remains good enough for daily activities and moderate physical activity therefore not affecting you as much until full recovery.
The God be with you case: TFCC injuries. Get one of these and it completely changes what a bad injury means to you. Don't wait 2-3 months expecting it to fade away magically one day. My advice is wait maximum 1 month and if it does not get better the tiniest bit or it gets even worse push for an MRI/ MR Arthrogram so your specialist doctor can be aware of the extent of the injury and if surgery needs to be done. Everything else is a waste of time and money.
