The animators spent so much time on the curly hair and the bounce of each individual curl… it would have been a blasphemy to not have spent as much time- if not more- on the accuracy and preciseness of Merida’s archery skills and techniques!

When I was training to become an archery instructor we were taught that the most accurate depiction of archery in media was brave and it really does make sense how this is the most realistic depiction of the sport I love it

brave is genuinely such a good movie. when i watched this for the first time as a young girl, i was shocked because for the first time (iirc) a movie isn’t abot love and romance and me, but about true love, which in reality involves family and friends and such. such a good context to learn from for children

The company I work for designed the bow prototype that she uses. Disney worked with one of the top archers in the world, he was inducted into the Archery Hall of Fame a few years ago.
