I live in the town this happened and was in high school when it happened and ts was so sad, they made Bayshore speed limit like 25 and it was 45 when the accident happened

I was crossing the street in a crosswalk after I left a Ross in a outside shopping mall around 9pm and didn’t realize how fast these kids where going down the street trying to race each other and one of them almost hit me. He stopped and rolled down his window to tell his friends “I almost hit her” I hope that made him stop, he seemed concerned. Just bc you think you’re doing it around a time where people will not be out, you still might hit something or someone going so fast you can’t even see what’s around the corner.
