Although many people today can easily access clean water by simply turning on a tap, millions of people around the world still struggle every day to find enough safe water to drink and use. Water is not only important for survival, but also for health, agriculture, industry, energy, transport, and the environment. Because of this, it is necessary for everyone to understand the importance of water and the need to protect it from pollution and waste.
Water covers around seventy percent of the Earth’s surface. Oceans, rivers, lakes, glaciers, and underground sources all contain water that supports life across the planet.
