I remember reading that Australia banned a certain type of sunscreen and the reef rebounded. I have no source, this was years ago

wasn't a study or something put out a while back i can't fully remember that stated that the great barrier reef had increased in size like if that was true would t that be evidence that the reefs are doing just fine

Pollution. Also, the global climate does affect ocean chemistry, specifically the concentration of gasses that gets dissolved in our oceans.

So you claim they are not suffering yet blatantly say that warmer temperatures cause coral bleaching. Is the very process of coral bleaching not bad in and of itself? Your explanation that they simply just gain more heat resistant strains of algae is a bit oversimplified as not all algae are able to do this fast enough. In many cases, warming actually outpaces recovery, which is a significant concern for global biodiversity and long term ecosystem health.

I do a lot of snorkeling here in Hawaii and I have seen coral bleaching episodes but then six months later the coral is back alive again.
