That's because you live in an unregulated capitalist dystopia. Profit before people.

I think the USA needed the World Cup the most out of all of us. Not from a football perspective, but to show the US what the world outside looks like.

Football is a working class game.
It was developed in poor communities and established supporters from them.
Then Football got organised and formed a league to play association football.
Now there's one thing the US cannot get their head around, RELEGATION.
If you play crap, you lose your place in the league.

European football has history that is drowned in blood sweat and tears.
Rivalery , riots one city against another.
It goes Wayyy deeper.

It costs less than $500 for good season tickets at Bayern Munich. The greed of America is hard to comprehend.

I wondered if this is why college sports are so popular - you can’t afford to go see full sports events

World Cup tickets costs more yet Europeans create better atmosphere. True reason is commercialization of American sport. Is more about show then actual sport. In Europe there is years of tradition and whole communities identify with specific club. You can't buy a club and move it to another town and you need to constantly compete or you will get relegated. I don't get how you can get any fans when you only sell comercial product.

Germany has a 50% +1 share of fan ownership of all teams, my club in Scotland (Heart of Midlothian) is fan owned, when the fans own the team the prices are fair, no profits are taken from teams, all money is reinvested in the team. The English Premiership is going down the American model and pricing real fans out to the detriment of the stadium experience (despite having great venues).
