I worked at a hotel in college (which was like 3 yrs ago). I am now a flight attendant. The computer system that we used was from 1984 and did not allow mouse clicks so you had to use the keyboard for everything. Some airports/airlines use similar systems at the gates/check in counter.

I worked for Marriott years ago and we couldn't use a mouse with their system. We had to navigate it with the keyboard.

I used to have this mindset before I got a hotel front desk job. To my surprise, we actually have a lot of stuff to do on the computer.

Feels like everyone I get behind is applying for a mortgage. Like it’s the most complicated transaction in history. My transaction takes less than a minute.

We’re typing literally everything from that ID and card in. Then at my resort we had to type in car info, and it auto signs you out of all the other tabs so usually typing my passkey in to make your keys, car passes, etc

I always assume that 90% of it is like clicking and typing around trying to back out of being in the wrong screen or to get to another field when the one you're in isn't letting you advance cuz you've got a typo or just simply not knowing how the software works.

I worked front desk at a hotel and she’s sort of right lol Besides typing in part of the guest’s name to pull up the reservation, the rest is all just clicks. Unless you’re coming in without a reservation but that rarely happens

no fr. ive worked at hotels and I can get you checked in fast, but when I check into hotels they spend 10 to 15 minutes just typing sht for a reservation that had all my info on it already I wonder the same thing.
