One of the biggest things too is that health insurance is also tied to employment. If you have a health issue while unemployed with no insurance, that could cause financial ruin.

Another point to consider is you must work a certain number of hours (basically a year in many states) to be eligible for unemployment. Additionally workers pay into unemployment.

They also fire good workers because they cost too much. It’s much cheaper to fire someone that makes $35/hour and hire someone new at $22/hour.
