what ppl dont know about poc radios is they are exactly the same as a cell pjone. so even if satellites, phone lines goes down, these too will go down. this is not a miracle radio. this is just a quick way of contacting without having to unlock ur phone and looking for the person to call

but you can only talk to other people that have the same device. your cell phone can call any device that is a cell phone and has a phone number. not to mention all of the other aspects of life that are connected through cell phones won't work through this.
