I love the idea and I plan to try it but as someone who’s worked in a corrugating facility, that sir is a corrugated box, not cardboard. Cardboard is a cereal box. Corrugated boxes are used for shipping. They are made from (depending on if it’s double wall or not) 3 layers of brown stock paper, the middle layer is run through the flutes of a corrugator where steam and a starch based glue connects the bottom layer to the middle. A glue machine is used just before the double backer to glue the top layer together and then the double backer will apply heat and pressure to cure glue to both sides of the board. If you cut open the side of a box, it will have a wavy pattern, that’s the corrugated layer.

Just take the old one back to a Home Depot and tell them that they were like that when you open the package.

Question. If I got a lot of random spots I wana sand down on some concrete what would you recommend? I don’t want to buy the big rental one because the issue spots are all odd shaped and small….. aka bad job for concrete around a pool

In response to the comment about sharpening the abrasive: Aluminum oxide is the common abrasive on sanding disks, its known as a “friable abrasive” meaning as it breaks apart, it “shatters” creating a new edge every time it breaks down, as long as there is abrasive on the disk, you still have some sanding power, the abrasive doesnt need to be sharpened.

maybe, you'd have to drop grit. if it was 120 grit before, it's a dulled 220 grit now

Another sanding cardboard trick. If you’re sanding plastic, you can also rub cardboard on the surface to knock down the fuzzies before you prime it.

You know the sandpaper itself wears down and gets less effective over time and it doesn’t matter if you get all the dust off it will still take way longer to sand
